Smoked Glass are currently writing and practicing all their new material for the summer, after their "phenomenal internet success" of the their performance at the jam house on Google video which reached number 7 most watched video on the internet for weeks, they had an amazing night at Cabaret Voltaire for the launch of their single SHE SAID... the gig was sold out weeks in advance. the bands current line up have only been together for a short time but its proving to be a winning formula. their fans are die hard. we plan on playing lots of small venues throughout the Edinburgh festival and in events like the cabaret voltaire gig in july - we expect great things in the very short future after a long run of very successful performances that are usually packed out.

These United States, a mish-mash mix of M. Ward, Andrew Bird, and Calexico, released their debut album, A Picture of the Three of Us at the Gate to the Garden of Eden (United Interests), to critical acclaim in March 2008. TheseUS's appearances at SXSW 2007 and 2008, and over 300 U.S., UK, and European tour dates in the 2 short years since their formation, have earned them stellar live reviews from Daytrotter, The Washington Post, KEXP, The Village Voice, and NPR, among others. They've played and toured with everyone from Califone (Thrill Jockey) to Georgie James (Saddle Creek), Richard Buckner (Merge) to Page France (Suicide Squeeze), Scott H. Biram (Bloodshot) to The Mendoza Line (Misra), and Karl Blau (K) to Catfish Haven (Secretly Canadian). With two scheduled Glastonbury appearances in June, These United States are primed to expand their wide-eyed, melting-pot, uniquely American reach to the UK in 2008.
"A beautiful collection of understated, orchestral roots rock that will enrapture both NPR and Pitchfork devotees." ALTERNATIVE PRESS
Vandaveer is the town-folk, city-pop song & dance routine penned by DC-based songsmith Mark Charles. His debut record, Grace & Speed (Gypsy Eyes Records), entered the world in March 2007, earning stellar reviews and repeated comparisons to Donovan, Dylan, Drake, Waits, Simon, and scores more. Vandaveer has toured extensively on both sides of the Atlantic, sharing stages with Vashti Bunyan, Fionn Regan, Alejandro Escovedo, Smog, The Ditty Bops, Vetiver, Joan As Policewoman, Scout Niblett, and dear friends in DC's ramshackle collective, the Federal Reserve. Grace & Speed is set for its upcoming French release via Alter K Records in May 2008, with heavy 2008 touring in France and Glastonbury appearances in the UK to follow.
