Apple Scruffs:
The Apple Scruffs are a 4 piece Glasgow band, formed in 2005 and well established in Scotland, in particular on the Glasgow scene, where they have developed a strong following and regularly play to crowds of around 200 fans.

The band has the ability to play a mixture of high paced punk rock music in addition to songs which have more of an indie pop feel.
Recent milestones for the band have include the release of their first single ‘Danielle’ in 2007 and prominent appearances at Scottish festivals ‘Connect’ and ‘Live at Loch Lomond’ in the Summer of 2007.

The band have also pioneered and headline their own club night named ‘Neverland’ which is held 6-8 weekly to a sell out crowd in the Admiral Bar Glasgow (although the venue is subject to change). ‘Neverland’ is of great value to the band and paramount to future plans.

In addition to this, the band have worked extremely hard on their second single ‘Big Hearts’ and the anticipated release date for this will be late September 2008

Beatnic Prestige: Beatnic Prestige are a mod, punk, indie band formed in August 2006. In October the same year, following a few weeks of intense rehearsing, they played their first gig to a sell out home crowd at PJ Molloys in Dunfermline. Immediately after, they headed off on a mini tour of England which included a night at The Cavern in Liverpool. Since then it has been pretty much relentless.

Months of continuous gigging has seen the band play a number of sell out shows. Highlights include gigs at PJ’s in Dunfermline, Dundee’s Doghouse, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut at New Year 2007 and The Old Blue Last in London. Along with the live shows, the band has also been selected, by the listeners, as Jim Gallately’s X-Posure showcase band of the week on XFM Scotland. As well as this, Vic Galloway tagged the band as ‘unsigned heroes’ for a week on his BBC radio Scotland show.

The band also runs its own limited company: ‘Weekend Revolution’. This is a highly successful live music night held every month in Dunfermline. The impetus behind ‘Weekend Revolution’ was to help create an exciting music scene in the town, and so far, it has been nothing but triumphant. The first two shows at PJ Molloys were a complete sell out, with the doors closing at 9pm. Following this, more recently, around a thousand gig goers turned out for ‘Weekend Revolution’ at Dunfermlines Glen Pavilion, and the after show party at PJ’s, with highly acclaimed local band ‘Sergeant’ being the headline act.

The band is also in the process of forming their own record label, ‘Shed Records’, which will enable them to record, publish and distribute their music independently. ‘Shed Records’ will be based at the bands’ self run private studio ‘The Shed’.

‘Enterprise’ is a word seldom used for bands nowadays. Gone are the days when major record companies come along, pick you up and everyone makes a living. It is a D.I.Y. market and Beatnic Prestige intends to be at the forefront of Scottish Music in the year ahead.

Dead Good Villians: We are makers of music... visionaries of vibe... creators of choosing... marauders of movement... fathers of the future...
We spawned the creation of 3 musical genres. Modernist Punk, Buzzsaw Rock & Trigger Finger Blues. Why, you may ask but you may never know.
Only one way you'll be finding out. That is to come, hear, indulge & abuse!

Ewan Butler: By now, only a hermit living in the heart of an evil mountain surrounded by a moat of molten lava and an army of ugly creatures that bide in mud, will be unaware of the West Coasts finest young troubadour, Ewan Butler. Eusky, as he is known to his friends has since his debut back in September at Glasgow Barfly, built upon his own individual style. He sings his acoustic stories in a manner steeped in commanding confidence but also manages to include additional hints of shyness appropriately fitting to the genre of his songs. As well as having the ability to take the opening slot and making it his own, he also has the uncanny talent of moulding the mood of the crowd for the remainder of the night. It is no wonder headlining acts such as John Power are at ease playing a set on what must seem like their very own musical Ithaca.
