Chris Garneau is a Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter and musician with a voice which lies somewhere between liquid and matter on the scale of all that ever was. With a delicate mix of Regina Spektor, Antony Hegarty and Elliot Smith, Garneau utilises 88 keys to craft his music, pairing this with his inimitable vocal tone and occassionally the strings of a cello. Chris generates heart-wrenching, fragile melodies with each note perfectly in place, every single delicately caressed and each haunting lyric riddled with enough ambiguity and melancholy to keep any intelligent listener addicted.
Chris' debut album, Music For Tourists and EP, C Sides, are available on Absolutely Kosher Redords, home to Xiu Xiu and the Mountain Goats. Three of his songs were on the soundtracks to US shows Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice in the Autumn 07 season. Chris is currently working on his second full-length album.
"Garneau's strong command of the piano and quirky voice call to mind Regina Spektor. Like her, he combines classical sensibilities with folky ones, inviting cello lines and harmonium drone into his ballads" Time Out New York
