X Lion Tamer

X-Lion Tamer (Edinburgh-based artist Tony Taylor), likes to create songs described as "the ending credits of low budget movies played on your mates Amiga". Like a John Hughes film, if Erasure and Junior Boys had been asked to do the music.

X-Lion Tamer’s live shows give him the opportunity to play his trademark electro-pop while also twisting it in and out of shape. Often improvising on the fly and occasionally dropping a huge guitar solo into the mix - he aims never to play the same show twice.

Signed to 17 Seconds records, X-Lion Tamer’s profile has risen considerably over the past few months, supporting artists such as Unicorn Kid and label mates Aberfeldy and receiving national radio play from the likes of Rob Da Bank and Vic Galloway on BBC Radio One.

He has also received rave reviews from the likes of The List and Song By Toad for his Neon Hearts EP which is available to buy from Rough Trade in London or Avalanche in Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as all major download websites.

Expect a night of uber cool electronic pop with a twist.

Fridge Magnets

Mysterious Glaswegians, Fridge Magnets, only popped onto the live scene at the beginning of 2008, after leaving previous bands in search of something more exciting. Although it proved tricky at first, getting to grips with their new electronic instruments, they locked themselves away and slowly mastered their new craft.

They’ve spent the past year performing at some of the country’s biggest venues including the O2, Glasgow’s ABC as well as being invited to International showcase events across the UK.

The synth-laden artists have so far self released their debut single ‘Tidal Wave’ which gained them some fantastic reviews. Their strong sense of melody, infectious beats and memorable vocals result in electro pop that really gets the crowd dancing.

The prolific trio are currently writing an entirely new set which will be ready to unveil with their first gig of the New Year at The Mill Edinburgh on 21st January 2010.
