The Niche Family delivered 2 spellbinding performances at Oran Mor during Celtic Connections back in January and we couldn’t wait to welcome them back. The band focus on close vocal harmonies and strong songwriting drawing from Folk, Americana and Country influences, They play Cab Vol on Friday and Oran Mor on Saturday.

After years of captivating audiences as a key member of the renowned band Frightened Rabbit, musician and songwriter Billy Kennedy is stepping into a new realm and spearheading Haiver, a now six piece indie rock band based in Glasgow. Catch them headlining Cab Vol on Saturday 26th July.

Both Day Sleeper and Waverley have recently launched brilliant EP’s at Cab Vol in Edinburgh and we’re delighted to have them involved in the WKNDR! Catch Day Sleeper at Cab Vol on Friday and Oran Mor on Saturday. Waverley play the Glasgow leg only, at Oran Mor on Saturday 26th July.

The Era are pushing the boundaries of modern rock/pop music by using their USP; an Electric Harp played through a selection of amplifiers and effects pedals to create a thick wall of atmospheric distortion. This, coupled with jagged guitar riffs and seductive vocals makes for a dark, heady sound of their own devising. They play Oran Mor on Friday and Cab Vol on Saturday.

The Great Pleasure have only released 1 song so far but their debut show at Oran Mor for Celtic Connections was a huge success. They’re performing special stripped back shows for the WKNDR at Cab Vol on Friday and Oran Mor on Saturday!

Niamh Corkey is a singer/songwriter from Fife in Scotland, now based in Glasgow. She grew up in a family full of musicians, learning to sing and play guitar at folk sessions around Ireland. She recently supported Siobhan Miller Band on tour around the UK and is regularly seen performing with Country Supergroup The Black Denims and sometimes The Niche Family too. She plays Oran Mor on Friday and Cab Vol on Saturday.
